Susan Savia: Listen to Music
THE SILENT MOON IS BEAMING
(Susan Savia)
2006-12-01
Music and Arrangement by Susan Savia, Words by John W. Tufts, 1892
This version is minus Robz REM Med Lee that precedes it. The last song on the CD, I'm reminded of Debussey when I sing it, and I always fall asleep when I listen to it.
The silent moon is beaming
while lulled in fairy dreaming
We watch its radiance gleaming
Upon the waters bright
Our voices softly blending
in harmony ascending
With every cadence ending
Seem lost in azure light
The waves are calmly sleeping
the dewy flowers are weeping
And stars their vigils keeping
above the tranquil lake
Light zephyrs softly sighing
‘mid fragrant perfume dying
To echo’s faint replying
fond memories awake
