Susan Savia: Listen to Music
DREAMY KID
(Susan Savia)
2006-12-01
Poem by Alfred Kreymbourg (19th century), Arrangement by Susan Savia
The lovely Indigo Bunting precedes this tune. I love this song, always enjoy playing and singing it. The idea of just hanging out on the grass, watching the clouds, thinking about beauty, love, kindness, peace... and going fishing without catching anything but the sun at the end of a beam....
I love all the clouds that go sailing away
and I’d love to be one of those ships for a day
in a sea that is blue as the sky is today
in a sea that is blue as the sky is today
I’d love to go fishing beside an old stream
and wishing no more than I’d wish in a dream
and catch just the sun at the end of a beam
and catch just the sun at the end of a beam
I’d love to go riding the wind or a breeze
and ripple the stream or pass over the seas
and land on an island, the Island of Peace
and land on an island, the Island of Peace
I’d love to come home with the stars in the night
and give every being a little more light
and hold out my hand to them and say Good Night
and hold out my hand to them and say Lovely Good Night
